Here's our top tips on tidying and washing your lingerie - the right way.
We want you to know how washing your new bra regularly in the washing machine can do some serious damage to the shelf life of the garment.
We always advise our customers to hand wash lingerie, because of it’s intricate and delicate features. Occasionally we’re asked why a bra of just a few months old is failing on them… our first question is, how have you been washing it?!
We can’t suggest highly enough the importance of hand washing your bras, so here are our tips:
- Fill your sink with cool water. Add your soap; mix around a little bit
- Add your lingerie, swish around and let sit for a a few minutes– then drain the water
- Turn on fresh cool water and thoroughly rinse each item, one by one as you take them out of the sink. Give them a good squeeze, but DO NOT twist like a wash cloth.
- Hang to dry. Straight and flat is good. Be sure to reshape the cup

Okay, so, my bras are clean. What now?
It's time to tidy!
Step one
Empty your lingerie drawer.
Let's put everything on the table and see what we're working with...
Step two
Put all the bras you wear the most to the side. (Tip: if any of these bras are showing signs of wear and tear, it's best to let them go.)
Step three
Put the bras you hardly wear or no longer like to the side.
Step four
Using the first pile you already made along with what's left, separate the 'Solutions' bras and the 'Special' bras.
Step five
Throw out the bras from step three and the worn out bras.
Step six
Lay each bra flat, starting from the back of the draw forward. To keep the matching knickers (if any) with the correct bra, try threading the knickers through the back band and fasten it. You'll never lose them again!
& Voila! You are all organised for the year ahead in lingerie.
